TASIS - The American School in England
What is TASIS like?
Founded in 1976 by American educator Mary Crist Fleming, TASIS The American School in England is a leading international, co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 3 - 18 (boarding begins at age 13). Situated in a beautiful 46-acre campus with historic buildings and state-of-the-art facilities, yet only 30 minutes by train from central London and 15 minutes by car from London Heathrow Airport, the School offers the American High School Diploma, AP courses and the IB Diploma Programme.
TASIS is a true international school, with students from 58 different nationalities and no more than 12% from one nationality, to ensure diversity in the student population. Class sizes are small ( the average class size in the Upper School is just 10), and the teacher to student ration is 6:1. TASIS students go on to study at top universities in the world, including Ivy League in the US and Russell Group in the UK.
Would TASIS be suitable for my child?
TASIS offers an excellent all-round education in an international context and is ideal for global families who want their children educated in an international environment with the flexibility of the American or IB curriculum. The suburban location offers a viable alternative to other international schools in London.
How can I apply to TASIS?
Like other international schools. TASIS operates a relatively flexible admissions process. Students are assessed for suitability primarily on the basis of their school reports and recommendation. For global families who want their children educated in an international environment with the flexibility of the American or IB curriculum, TASIS is a very good choice. The suburban location offers a viable alternative to other international schools in London.
